Established on July 17, 2002, the Friends of the Oakland Fire Department is a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the broad missions of the Oakland Fire Department.  This is accomplished via public engagement and training related to fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), use of 9-1-1, and other community-based fire services to the visitors and residents of Oakland. 

 

Friends of the Oakland Fire Department focuses on three core areas:  enhancing the programs of the Oakland Fire Department, supporting the active and retired members of the Department, and preserving over one hundred fifty-five years of rich history of the Oakland Fire Department.
